In contrast to the Stats Can figures released last week, that suggest that building permits took a heavy hit, building starts data from CMHC for September beat expectations in the other direction. A recent poll of economists done by Reuters suggests that much of the world is placing their confidence in the stalwart Canadian economy to lead the way back to stable financial footing.
